Penetration Testing

Penetration Testing

Manual, scenario-driven testing that shows how an attacker would get in, how far they could go and what to fix first.

Overview

An automated scan tells you which software versions are out of date. A penetration test tells you that an expired VPN account, a reused password and an unpatched file server together give an outsider domain-administrator rights by lunchtime. That chain is what matters, and finding it takes experienced people, not just tools.

External tests start from the internet with no prior knowledge. Internal tests assume an attacker already has a foothold, such as a phished laptop, and measure how far they can move through Active Directory and the network. Application testers work through business logic as well as the OWASP lists. Every finding comes with evidence, a severity rating and a fix, and we retest once you have remediated.

How an engagement runs

  1. Scope and rules of engagement

We agree objectives, scope, timing and authority in writing before any testing or monitoring starts.

  2. Assess

We establish what you have, how it is exposed and what an attacker would target first.

  3. Prioritise

Findings ranked by business impact, with a remediation plan your team can act on.

  4. Protect and verify

Controls implemented, then retested to confirm the fix works.

  5. Monitor and respond

24/7 detection, with a tested plan and our responders on call when an incident occurs.
